For some time now, there has been a drive to manufacture high-performance fiber composite components wherever conventional construction materials have reached their limits. Due to the mostly small quantities at high prices, industrial approaches with high investments were rarely possible. In the WG Manufacturing Processes, technical-scientific and economic topics are dealt with, which present and explain the wide field of existing techniques in the manufacture of fiber composites components. Proven processes – as well as new possibilities – will be discussed to show the wide range of solutions for handling fibers in the production of semi-finished products, in the impregnation process and in the joining of components. Examples of applications for special products and product groups complete the spectrum of topics of this WG. The aim is to support the knowledge base from the pool of existing solutions and to stimulate the participants to new ideas and projects.
